beauty makeup toofaced mascara eyeliner

First up I'd like to apologise for how awful these photos are, I'm currently at my parents house and never before realised just how bad the lighting is until trying to take blog photos. All being well, I should finally be moving into my new place next week woohoooo so please bear with me until then.

So if you're new here, this is a regular post I like to do at the end of every season to show you what products I've been loving over the past few months. I haven't been wearing a whole lot of makeup recently, maybe once a week, if that, so I wasn't too sure I'd have anything new to talk about but upon opening my makeup bags I did find a few freshies I'd been really into throughout Summer.

Better Than Sex Mascara £19 - Too Faced - After hearing a few beauty bloggers raving about this mascara, I decided to try it for myself and it definitely lives up to the hype. My downward turned, short stumps are sorry excuse for eyelashes but this really makes the most of my bad genes. It's unique hourglass shaped wand is something I haven't come across before but it makes it so easy to get all of my lashes coated quickly which is great for when I'm in a rush (basically every time I apply makeup). It gives voluminous lashes and holds a curl all day, it's just a great all rounder.
You can definitely get similar results from the drugstore but if you feel like treating yourself I wouldn't hesitate to get this! Plus it's cheaper than the much coveted Benefit mascaras.

Supercat Eyeliner Pen £6 - Soap & Glory - Ever since I started wearing eyeliner several years ago, I've never been able to apply it other than to do a basic straight line. Recently I decided that I was going to try do a decent flick every time I wore makeup to practice and this product has been a godsend. It's a felt tip liner that goes on super black and dries fairly quickly to limit smudging. Although I still haven't got the hang of the cat eye look, this has made it a lot easier to attempt compared to my gel eyeliner & brush combo I used to use. It does tend to transfer onto my upper lid if I'm wearing it for long periods of time due to my hooded, oily lids (cheers for that, genes) but other than that I can't fault it.

Photo Finish Foundation Primer £25.50 - Smashbox - I'd been hunting for a primer that would help keep my face on for longer for many months when I finally gave in and purchased this Smashbox cult classic. It may seem pricey but you only need a pea sized amount so it's gonna last you a long time and is a great investment purchase. It has a gel consistency, that once applied to the face leaves the skin feeling velvety soft. My base products apply like a dream and stay on so much longer with this primer, I don't know how I coped without it.

Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Don't Pink Of It £8.99 - Bourjois - Liquid lipsticks are something I hadn't really ventured into before but after getting fed up of how my normal lipsticks were clinging to my dry patches, I thought I'd try this out. It applies so easily, much like a lipgloss with a doe foot applicator, but dries to a truly matte finish just like your standard lipstick. I have this in two shades but Don't Pink Of It is my go to everyday colour. It's a super flattering brown toned pink that's great for all occasions. The only gripe I have with these lipsticks is that the shade variety isn't that great but other than that, they're perfect and I really want to splurge on the whole range.

Dallas Face Powder £23.50 - Benefit Cosmetics - One of the first high end products I ever used was Dallas powder as my sister let me borrow hers and it was love at first sight. From that moment, I basically claimed it as my own and used it constantly for a good couple of years. As my makeup collection grew, my fave Dallas got pushed to the side to make way for my newer purchases. Until now. Whilst moving out of my old flat in June, I rediscovered this and have fallen back in love with it. I picked up a new one as my (sister's) old one wasn't looking too hot but it's worth every penny. It's a deep toned plum shade that gives a really natural looking glow to the skin. I've been loving using this as a more natural, glowing alternative to contour for the summer months and will probably continue using it throughout Autumn as well.

#22 Fan Brush £14.50 - Smashbox - As most of you will know, my favourite product by far is highlighter and this brush is amazing for applying powder highlighters. It picks up just the right amount of product and is the perfect shape for applying powder to the tops of the cheekbones and along the brow bone. It's also super soft and washes really well with no shedding so far so hopefully it'll last for a while.

I'm so ready for cosy nights in watching Netflix & dark purple lipstick now but hope you all had a great summer. What have been some of your favourite products?

  1. The Supercat is my absolute favourite drugstore pen liner! I've been loving MAC Fix+ and my makeup revolution contour palette! I wrote about them in my Summer Favourites post!
