My Everyday Spring Makeup

During my time in the blogging community, I have read many, many posts and have come to the conclusion that almost all beauty bloggers can be put into one of the two following categories: those that constantly try out new products and those that find a product they love and stick with it. I, myself, fall under the latter category so it actually surprised me how many new products I've discovered recently.
However, as the weather started to get warmer I found myself branching out for some new make up to go with the new season and thought I'd share with you my everyday Spring makeup look.

Base - Starting things off with my base makeup, I feel like a mini celebration is in order as I've finally found a primer that works for me. Hooray! The Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer smooths out my wrinkles, giving me a smooth base to apply my makeup and helping keep it in place for longer. I've then been using the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Ivory as a lighter alternative to my usual foundation. This covers all the major redness on the face and evens out my skin tone but for the blemishes and scarring that need a little extra coverage I've been using my old faithful Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair. To brighten up my under eye area, Ive been loving the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer in Light to cancel out any darkness and make me look a little more alert (having a puppy is very exhausting!!). Then to finish off, I apply a light dusting of the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot powder to keep my shine at bay.

Contour & Highlight - The two contouring products I've been using non stop since January are the Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna and the Nars Matte Multiple in Altai which I actually did a full post on here - Contouring 101 with Nars Cosmetics if you were wanting more detail but basically they're both amazing, especially for pale skin tones.
A recent discovery of mine which I've been using for highlighting is The Body Shop Radiant Highlighter. It's a liquid consistency in the most beautiful champagne pink colour which leaves a lovely sheer glow on the cheeks. Perfect for a fresh, Spring look.

Brows - I've been favouring a strong brow lately and to achieve this look I've been using three products, two of which are from the Anastasia Beverly Hills range. Firstly I've been using the DipBrow Pomade in Medium Brown to outline the shape of my brows and then the Brow Wiz in Medium Brown to fill them in. I've been setting them with my Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Blond which isn't photographed as my mischievous little dog decided he wanted to use it as a chew toy. If you'd like to see what it looks like I actually featured it in my Drugstore Beauty Dupes post before it got massacred. The joys of owning dogs...

Blush - After getting the Nars Orgasm blush for Christmas, I didn't think I'd ever use another blush again but after hearing a few bloggers talk about the Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush I picked it up and I've been using it ever since. It gives a natural, dewy flush to the cheeks which is just what I needed to perk up my makeup routine for the new season.

Eyes - For my eyes, I've been keeping it really simple and just going for a subtle, matte look. As a base, I've been loving the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly. This nude cream eye colour gives my eyeshadow something to stick to and keeps it from creasing all day.
For my eyeshadow, I've been using the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette to create a neutral, matte eye look. On an average day, I usually take the lightest shade, Skimp, along my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye. I then use Frisk all over the lid and put Cover and Primal in the outer corner of the lid in a V shape and blend out. If I want a more defined eye, I'll line my upper lash line with the shade Undone using an angled liner brush.
I then top off the look by curling my eyelashes with my trusty Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and applying some of my favourite new mascara, Maybelline Lash Sensational.

Lips - Depending on how my lips are holding up, I'll either stick to applying some of my Burt's Bees Hydrating Lip Balm or if they're in good enough condition I'll apply one of my current favourite lipsticks - either the Topshop Lipstick in Innocent or in Devotion. Both are pretty pink nudes that are great for everyday wear.

And there you have it, my current everyday makeup routine. If you're like me and don't venture into new makeup territory often enough, go ahead and try some new bits out cos you might find something you can't believe you ever used to live without!

    1. Thanks! And yeah, it's annoying that you can't try it in store first but I just had an Instagram stalk and found people with my shade brows and looked at what shade they used :) xo
