Beauty | My First Ever Lush Haul

lush haul beauty bath

lush haul karma bubble bar

lush haul honey bee bath bomb beauty

lush products haul butterball pop in the bath

After being a blogger for over six months, it may comes as quite a shock to you but I'm actually a Lush virgin. Shocking, I know. Last week I finally took the plunge and bought my first ever Lush products. I have previously bought a Lip Scrub which I reviewed here but I've never purchased any of the bath products before so this was a whole new experience for me.

As I'm not a massive fan of fruity or floral scents, I didn't think I'd find anything suitable to my tastes but there's actually a surprisingly wide range of goodies to cater to everyone's noses.
Being a lover of clean, fresh smells I asked the shop assistant to point me in the right direction and she was so friendly and helpful. The staff definitely know their stuff when it comes to Lush! I told her I only wanted to spend about £10 and she didn't push me into getting anything else, she just explained how everything works and then let me pick once she'd suggested a few things. I was seriously impressed by the service and can't wait to give these a go as I'm sure they'll live up to their expectations.

Clockwise, starting from the left I picked up:
Karma Bubble Bar - £3.25
Honey Bee Bath Bomb - £3.35
Pop In The Bath Bubble Bar - £2.95
Butterball Bath Bomb - £2.65

I'd always been hesitant to try Lush products as I thought they were rather overpriced for what they were but the woman I spoke to reassured me and said that it's super easy to cut the bath bombs in half and the bubble bars you just crumble in however much you want so I'm hoping these will last me a good while. They're also full of essential oils and natural moisturising ingredients such as Cocoa Butter and Aloe Vera Gel so definitely provide more than just a colourful bath.

I'm so excited to finally start using them now that they're photographed! What Lush products do you recommend? Would you like to see a review of these once I've used them?
Let me know your thoughts!

Beauty Review | Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Brush Set

For my 21st birthday, I kindly received this brush set that I (and most other beauty bloggers out there) had been lusting after for months. It's a set of eight brushes, including five for the face and three for the eyes. The brushes are as follows:
102 - Silk Finish
106 - Powder
110 - Face Shape
127 - Luxe Sheer Cheek
142 - Concealer Buffer
227 - Luxe Soft Definer
231 - Petit Crease
317 - Wing Liner

Now let me start by saying how beautiful these brushes are! The rose gold finish really gives them a luxurious look but if you work it out these brushes come in at only £6.25 per brush. That's cheaper than most Real Techniques and far cheaper than any Mac brushes. They are all such good quality and feel so soft on the skin. The only one I'd say feels a little rough is the Luxe Soft Definer but let face it, compared to the Mac 217 a baby's bottom would feel rough!

Normally when buying brushes in sets I'm a bit sceptical as to whether I'm going to use them all and get my money's worth from buying in bulk but I've actually surprised myself with how handy all these brushes are.
The Powder, Face Shape, Luxe Sheer Cheek and Concealer Buffer brushes have all made it into my everyday makeup routine. The Powder brush is perfect for applying blush as it's silky smooth and gives a nice, even sweep of colour. The Face Shape I use for my cream contouring and Luxe Sheer Cheek for my powder contouring as it's a perfect angled brush for getting right into my cheekbones. Before having this set, I used to blend my concealer with my fingers but after using the Concealer Buffer I'm never going back to fingers again. It gives such a flawless finish, plus it's less messy which is always great for a hygiene freak like me!
Although I still use my RT Expert Face Brush as my first choice for a foundation brush the Silk Finish brush still gets regular use when the former one gets dirty and is wonderful at blending and gives a flawless finish, even on my skin.

As for the eye brushes, I wasn't completely in awe of them but I am definitely more of a base girl than an eye one. They are still really good though, don't get me wrong! The Petit Crease is great for getting colour into the crease (who'd have guessed?!) and the Luxe Soft Definer is a great blender and still gets use when my Mac 217's are both dirty or if I want a cleaner brush to blend out with. I rarely wear eyeliner but when I'm doing a full face I do like to put eyeshadow along my lash line and the Wing Liner brush has been amazing for that. It's just the right size to get right into the corner of the eye and makes a perfect flick easy enough for even me to do.

All in all, I'd say this Zoeva brush set is definitely worth the hype (and the money) and would definitely recommend getting it if you're wanting some good quality brushes to build up your collection. The range of brushes is really good and they are all definitely essentials. You could easily create a full look with just these eight brushes so would even be a good investment for a beginner to makeup as well. If the thought of shelling out £50 on brushes in one go makes you shudder slightly, I would definitely say that the 127 - Luxe Sheer Cheek is the stand out brush from this set and is worth getting on it's own.

Do you guys think brushes are a good investment? Or would you rather spend the money on makeup? Let me know!

15 Things in 2015

Sources - One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six.

I've seen a few of these types of posts going round in the past week and thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and share my resolutions for 2015. I've tried to keep most of them fairly realistic in the hope that I'm more likely to succeed in doing them! 2014 was a tough year for me but I'm feeling pretty positive about 2015 . Hopefully it'll be the year I start to get my life sorted out.

So here goes, 15 goals I'd like to achieve in 2015:

1. New job - I really want to find a job I can have a career in and that I actually enjoy. And also one where I earn enough to cover my rent, bills and food!
2. Get a puppy - Although I have Percy, I no longer live with him and my sister so I'd love to get a dog to call my own. If I don't have one in a years time, I'd at least like to be in the position to own one (basically not living in a second floor flat anymore).
3. Even eyebrows - Fingers crossed 2015 is the year I say goodbye to these wonky things.
4. Growing my blog - I would love to see my blog grow and reach more people this year and I definitely want to try writing more regularly.
5. See my friends more - Only seeing your best friends once every few months sucks and I'm hoping with a new job I might be able to afford to see them more. I'm actually going to Newcastle at the end of January to see two of my besties so I'm super excited for that.
6. Nose job - This one isn't exactly realistic but if I win the lottery it would be one of the first things I did. Hopefully I can continue to save up for one though and finally get my nose set straight after ten years of being Little Miss Wonky!
7. Say 'yes' more - This may be a little cliche but with my anxiety, I often find myself making up excuses to not do things but this year I really want to seize more opportunities and say yes to more things.
8. Get fit - My diet is probably 90% sugar and carbs so I really want to try and eat healthier this year. When I make an effort to eat healthy it makes such a big difference to my energy levels and I'm just generally in a better mood. It's just expensive and a lot of effort!! But I will try harder this year and I also want to keep exercising regularly.
9. Volunteer - If you know me at all, you'll know how much I adore dogs so this year I'd really like to volunteer at a rescue centre/dogs home as it's something I'm really passionate about. The only problem is I don't have a car so getting there might be quite hard but hopefully if I get a new job I'll be able to afford a car.
10. Start counselling - I've had counselling years ago and didn't find it helpful but my doctor says I'm much more in the right frame of mind for it now so I'm hoping I'll see some good results from it. I just need to actually book an appointment to get the ball rolling.
11. Come off medication - This ties in with the one above as I absolutely hate being on medication for my anxiety and depression so hopefully if I find counselling helpful I'll be able to come off it!
12. Make the most of my holiday - This year I'm being spoilt rotten by my sister who is taking me to Florida for my birthday. We went two years ago and we were so down about not seeing our dog that we didn't enjoy it to the maximum. Although this year I'll be missing my dog and my boyfriend, I hope I make the most of it and don't mope as much.
13. See my boyfriend more - As my boyfriend and I don't have a day off together, it can be quite hard to find the time to see each other. Again, if I get a job with more sociable hours I'll have Sundays off with him which would be amazing. Seeing him in the daylight would be such a treat! Plus, if we move in together I'll be able to wake up to his little face almost every morning.
14. Make a house a home - If we do move in together it would be really nice to finally live somewhere for more than a year as I could actually make it a home. I just don't see the point in making the effort at the minute when I'm not going to be there for long but if I found somewhere more permanent, I would love to decorate it and make it a real home.
15. Enjoy 2015 - This one may be cheesy but I would like to simply enjoy this year. After writing this post I've realised a lot of these things rely on me getting a new job so that's definitely my top priority. I'd like to be less stressed, happier and healthier in 2015. Fingers crossed, eh?

Oh and obviously no divorces either...

What about you guys? What are your goals for this year?
Wishing you all a fabulous 2015!

Beauty Review | Tmart Too Faced Palette Dupe

Hey guys, sorry it's been so long since my last blog post. In between my camera playing up, ill health and spending Christmas back at my parents, I haven't been able to put much together but everything is sorted now so hopefully I can get back to my regular posting! Anyway, on with the post...

A while back, the lovely people at Tmart asked me if I'd like to review one of their products and I immediately jumped at the chance! Having hundreds of eye shadow palettes to choose from I was definitely spoiled for choice but eventually decided on the Boudoir Eyes Eyeshadow Makeup Palette*. I'd been wanting to try out the Too Faced palette for a while but the £29 price tag had been putting me off. Luckily this dupe palette is only £6.48, a fraction of the price. Happy days!

First off, can we talk about how cute this packaging is?! Very Instagrammable (yep I just made up a word) and it comes with a massive mirror which is perfect for on the go.
The palette comes with 9 eye shadows that make up three different looks; Day, Classic and Fashion. It's perfect for beginners (and lazy people like myself) that don't always know which colours go together as it comes with a helpful 'How-To Glamour Guide'. The guide tells you which shades go where in each of the looks they've put together. As the eye shadows are all neutral though you could easily make up your own looks too!

As you can see from the swatches above the palette is definitely neutral but has a sultry feel to it as well, making it perfect for day and night. The shadows are all highly pigmented although for some reason they didn't show up too well on my arm? It's my first time ever swatching so bear with me! I feel like they actually came up better on my fingers!
There's a really decent range of colours, including four matte shades (the three Day shades and Garter Belt)! I can't get enough of matte eye shadow and yet palettes always seem to sideline them (looking at you, Naked palettes). The matte shades are a tad chalky but I find this with all matte eye shadows, even my Naked Basics palettes.
Birthday Suit is probably my favourite shade, on days when I'm in a rush I just sweep it all over the lid and I'm ready to go. I love the little touches with this palette, like the cheeky names of the eye shadows which I think makes it really fun.

I've been reaching for this palette most days as it's super wearable and the shadows are such good quality. Honestly if you're thinking about buying a high end product, I'd definitely recommend checking out their website first. Tmart have loads of eye shadow palettes including the much hyped about Naked palettes for around £6.50 each! An absolute bargain.

Have you tried any good dupe products recently? Let me know! I'm seriously tempted to try out Tmart's version of the UD Vice palette.
